It is always great and one of my favorite things to go back to Auld Reekie. This time it has been very special, I have to say. It has been a while since I last saw my friends from Edinburgh.
I flew to Newcastle last August, 6th and once there I took the metro train into town, right to Newcastle Central Railway Station. I took the train and 1:30 hours later I got to Waverley Station, right in the heart of Edinburgh. The city welcomed me with a typical Scottish day, it was pouring rain.
Saturday I went down to South Clerk Street where I met Chris and Siobhan at the Southern Bar, Chris was playing at the Eclectic Mud. We had a great time, trying to catch up with our lives for the last 4 years.
Sunday, It was Fringe in the Meadows, it was weird as the last times I’ve been there it used to be in Holyrood Park. There was a great atmosphere but still raining since Wednesday so I ended up in the Spiegaltent in George Square, then later I went to the Delaney’s residence where I saw everybody, and then to Jon and Jude’s. Great to see Leslie, Ben, Corinne, Jon and Jude, Kenny and Jo and Bonnie.
I stayed Sunday and Monday with Jon and Jude, it was so good to see you, I’ll never forget what you did for me. I love you.
Monday I had an appointment with Jo Delaney. I met her in town and then they invited me for dinner. We had some wine in the garden and while I was throwing the ball to Bonnie, we were talking and laughing about old stories.
Tuesday it was Jon’s birthday, so Happy Birthday Jon!! I hope you decided where to go on your Round the World Trip, it sounds really exciting . You know we have an appointment in Asia if I’m there by the time.
Tuesday…yeahhhh….I was finally going to meet all my mates, Chris, Siobhan, Stef, Stevie and Ross. I had the feeling as if the clock had stopped 4 years ago, seriously, nothing seemed to have changed since the last time I saw you. You are still the same fantastic people I remember I had as friends. You made me feel like at home again, very welcomed and thanks for encouraging me to go back, I wish I would…Thanks for sharing your time with me…YOU ARE UNBELIEVABLE PEOPLE!!
